Cerebral Malaria
Saw on CNN about 92 villages been hit by cerebral malaria in India. The way it was put sounded like a cholera outbreak or something of that sort. But, from my knowledge cerebral malaria often occurs when malaria is left untreated or when treatment is delayed which is very common in third world countries especially in villages where people have to travel on foot several miles to get treatment. If you are not familiar with malaria just imagine someone having a severe case of flu, then tell that person to walk 25 miles or more to a clinic, it's just not possible. In some cases relatives and other villagers carry a person on a home made stretcher, and that still will take forever to get to the clinic, most likely by the time they get there the person will be having cerebral malaria and that is if they are lucky, otherwise they might be dead on the way.
