Beauty in the eye of the beholder

"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and it may be necessary from time to time to give a stupid or misinformed beholder a black eye." (Miss Piggy)
Truly, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. And, it is sad when young girls try so hard to please the stupid or misinformed beholder by making themselves as skinny as they can possibly get. It is weird when a lot of attention is paid on people who weigh more and forget those who are under weight. It should be about being healthy. Being under weight is not healthy no difference from being over weight; on both ends there are big health problems a person can end up with, and many people knows this but still the pressure is on for females especially the young ones to keep loosing whatever few pounds they have.
I like the size healthy attitude.
The other day I was watching Oprah and it was interesting how different people in different parts of the world view beauty completely different. In one country men likes their women thick, and if a woman has stretch marks that's a plus, and on top of that if she is divorced then men really desire her. Yaah! that's it people, Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Two years ago I went back to my motherland, and visited some relatives. One of the relatives I visited took one look at me and she was disappointed that I was not thick. To her being fat means you have a good life, it means things are going well in your life. It was interesting that I had put a lot of effort on exercise so that I could look my best and here she was completely not impressed.
